Legalize Prostitution

Out of the blue.
I feel like voicing out my opinion regarding the prostitution iindustry.
Not against them, but to support such career because I feel there isn't a harm there.
It's safer in many sense if it is legalized.
Why prostitution?
I thought about it years ago but it became clearer to me today when I linked it with ambition.
How the concept of ambition and prostitution collides when people are not given the chance to choose.
_________________________________________

"What do I want to be when I grow up?"
I'm sure many of you, excluding Satya, probably had considered a few different ambitions before landing at where you are today.

What, who, when, how, and why.
Questions of self identity.
The person you are going to be.
Have you ever asked yourself that?

I would make a daring assumption and assume almost everyone has an image they see in themselves that define them.
May it be good or bad, that "self" exist....

But at times, luck may run down and we turn out to be exactly the person we don't wish to be.
We may not be able to be who we wanted to be last time,
but most of us are fortunate enough to at least exist and be recognized as somebody today.
To earn a sense of belonging.
The comforting feeling of identity.

Some of us are not so fortunate.
Some of us, are seen as the trash of the society.
Our existence, because of a career choice, will lead us to extreme discrimination.
Look at President Bush
Osama Bin Laden
Lindsey Lohan
Sometimes, there are even people out there who are devoted to exterminate us.

One of the occupation that 100% doesn't get the top priority in everyone's heart is prostitutes.
Prostitutes.
Whores
Hookers
Sluts
Chicken
So many labels are attached to this category of people, I couldn't even remember them all.
Besides their customers and their employers, their existences turn a smile upside down.
Why do the word prostitute plays out in such negative connotation?

I watched a drama today where they talked about a prostitute murder case.
On usual gruesome cases of a murder, people would have mixed feelings of fear, sympathy, hatred and lost.
But because the victim is a prostitute, the public seems to be agreeable with the murderer.
I heard the most unethical and disgusting words spouted from the mouth of the public.

"They deserve it. A bunch of trash."
"They shouldn't have been there to begin with."
"If they weren't prostitutes, they won't be killed."
"The price u pay for being a whore."
"I was so embarrassed when my child asked me what are they! Thank god they are not around."

Danger and value of a murder suddenly falls into the subjective category.
Where it can be right or wrong when it obviously supposed to be
WRONG and ONLY WRONG to begin with.

I wonder why is it so wrong to be a prostitute.
It is just another career.
They gave up their body to earn a living.
There are expertise, effort, price, payment and customer.
They are providing a form of service.
Its a career. Get me?
Just without those expensive education that leads you to no where.

They are satisfying guys and sometimes even girls sexual needs in return for money.
What is wrong with that?
Don't tell me it is shameful, degrading and insulting to do so cause I've seen lots of "freelance" with no labels doing exactly just that today.

Like how a guy needs to buy house, cars and diamond to get to a girl.
A big shopping spree to get sex.
Some are even at the standard where a few glasses of beer would do for a one night stand.
See how ppl pay for sex?
At times, I think its just more expensive if they go for those freelance hookers..

Prostitutes are degrading?
These freelancers are getting the best out of it without labels
and many girls are following their footsteps indirectly.
Freelances, like I said.

Screw the stereotypical impression on prostitute!
I wonder why are people against prostitute at times.
HIV? Pride? Trust?

The way I see it, if you can't handle your man,
its prolly not the prostitute fault because they are only making business.

Do we blame cigarette for lung cancer?
Do we blame education when your child can't get a job?
Do we blame food for being anorexic?
Do we blame the traffic for us being late?

It is the screwed up mentality that is pushing us to blame everyone because it's convenient to just blame.
I think.
Prostitutes shouldn't be illegal.
It may not be an ideal career.
Most I believe are desperate and are at the end of their wits.
There are many girls who ended up as prostitutes for the wrong or right reasons.
But banning it doesn't help these desperate people to get through their life any easier.
They are only more exposed to danger for doing it illegally.

Mentality should be reformed.
Don't waste life.

Not only do our current laws put all these women in harms way by taking away their sanction and protection under the law, now they are trying to get humdreds of millions to continue these nationwide stings against consenting adults who meet in private and they are lying and saying they are rescueing teens being exploited, they have no services for the teens they rescue but have been collectiong donations for years and what they spend the donations on was traveling the country like a politican lying about how many kids are being exploited. The bill alos clearly say that no girl over the age of 20 can get any of these new services they SAY THEY WILL CREATE, right now these teens are returned to their familes or fosterhomes and the parents do not seem to be held accountable that we had to spnd 800,000 rescuing their ungovernable teens, why these teens are not sent to REFORM SCHOOL or BOOTCAMP is IRONIC, they ran away usually withot cause which makes them criminals, yet the only oneswe lock up are the female adult escorts.
Why we just don't decriminalze what all adults do in private and make madatory sentencing for anyone trying to buy sex or exploit a minor, if we decriminalize the cops can walk into any brothel and make sure everyone has ID and is of legal age and IN THE COUNTRY LEGALLY. We can take the taxes from these busineeses to create log term services for any women wanting to exit the industry.
Last month they spend 800,000 from a grant and arrested 884 people, 69 were teeen RUNAWYS and 99 were pimps so they throw over 700 tax paying adults in jail for looking for adult entertainment.
Then they started running articles that were titled' 54 Nevada men arrested dring a child prostituion sting" now we know those 54 men were arrested for meeting an ADULT ESCORT IN PRIVATE. This is to fool the public into voting for BILL 5575 ad they think they are doing a nice thing for these poor teens, who are usually ungrateful and ungovernable, who are stillnot being held accountable for their actions, they ranaway and engaged in prostitution, they were not kidnapped and held at gunpoint, they were hiding from their parents and authorities.
As a escort we only want to be decriminalized, not legalized and regulated and harassed. In Rhode Island indoor prostituion was legal from 1979 til Nov 2009, and they never had even one case of human trafficking, the massage spa's all paid taxes, donated money to the state police and other charites and the women spent their money in the local businesses.
The danger of this bill is LE already has to much power to STALK these women and abuse them. Recently the chief of police in PA engaged in a sex act with 13 women and then arrested them for prostitution and Boston courthouse cop admitted he threatened 3 women with pending cases for sex right in the courthouse but he was not charged with a felony, or the cops who plead guilty to exploiting a 17 year old girl and only got 11 years or the Army sergant that plead guilty to the same and only got 7 years, but they are now charging middled aged independent escorts with the MANN act for crossing state lines which makes it a FEDERAL FELONY.

I see where you're going with this argument.

Although I myself do not hate prostitutes or look down on them, I DON'T think it should be legalized at all.

Why?

Because if you know how the sex industry works you wouldn't want to be in favour of it. I assure you.

In the Asian region, and especially the more deprived regions, like India, parts of Indonesia, Thailand and even M'sia, prostitutes work by force and NOT by choice.

how many times have u seen on the news of little boys and girls gettng kidnapped? and til now they are no where to be found. they get sold of as sex workers. they grow up to become traumatised and psychologically defected young people who are confused about themselves.

there was a documentary of this on discovery channel.

there's a reason why there are campaigns worldwide against sex workers because it's a perverse way of making money. and alongside that, the spread of many STDs such as HIV, syphillis, etc.

majority of prostitutes work in the sex industry out of oppression. to legalize it would be to capture thousands of children or teens of their freedom.

how could you want that for them??? seriously, ask yourself that.

there's also such thing as ethics. if u want to receive sexual pleasure, fine, go get a one night stand. who says that those kind of people dont get labelled negatively? i for one know that majority of m'sians abhor such behaviour.

it's not culturally acceptable.

u better think b4 u publish any entry girl....this is connected to law that is gazet by the government and it has reason why prostitution is illegal

RS:you seem to take this post very personally and based on only one programme that you have seen in discovery channel,i loved your opinion and where you're exactly going with it but dont you think the reason why "prostitutes work by force and NOT by choice" is due to the stigma or the law that is tied to such career,if it was legalised, everything would fall into place, for instance, those are being forced can definitely find a protection against their employer under the employment section if only this career is legal.

Many kids/womens are being kidnapped because people are afraid to get into this bussiness as much as they need in order to sustain their life just because its illegal.

If prostitution is legalised,i dont think HIV or any other STD related disease would spread any further because when prostitution ar elegalised prostitutes are licensed and they are required for blood check ups every once a month, alot of things goes in order.
Perhaps you should really go and do some research on legalising prostitutions or about countries would have done it.

In my opinion or i think even my friend rather see those kids and adults being opressed but to be free from any sexually transmitted diseases because thats going to save alot of lives and a better could be produced.

Ask yourself,do you think malaysian really abhor such kind of acts?IF yes then please do tell me why is our HIV/AIDS statistic is not decreasing at all??im curious.

SOMEONE:hey, you're right about this post being connected to the law but do remember each and every individual has a share in saying something, thats what the LAW exactly says;)

do go and read up ART.10 then you will know,my friend here is not violating neither provokaing any legal attention for her own opinion in her very own blog here.
